The actress, who was small time and failed to make it big in the Indian film industry, had starred in the 2013 critically acclaimed film BA Pass. DCP Narayan Chaudhry had stated in the report, “The incident took place at around 6 pm. Joshi would stay in the flat with her friend. She went into the bathroom and slit her throat open using a sharp object. When she did not open the door for a long time, her friend knocked on the door and Joshi opened it. However, she collapsed immediately due to excessive bleeding.”
“Police team was alerted by neighbours in night after which we took the body and sent it for post-mortem. From preliminary investigation, we have learnt that she was under depression,” the officer said.
Bleeding profusely, Joshi was then rushed to Kokilaben hospital in Andheri where she was pronounced dead. Police stated that it looked like a suicide yet since slitting one’s throat open was an unusual way to commit the deed, the authorities were not ruling out murder. The police also stated that since Joshi was unable to find work in Bollywood, she was depressed and might have committed the suicide as a result.
